We are looking for a dedicated Telecommunications Engineer who is passionate about space and future technologies and wants to join the Fleet family to connect the world. The successful candidate will work with Fleet’s Telecommunications team developing the next generation of our communication systems.
Design, procurement, assembly and testing of communications for satellite payloads and associated ground-based communications equipment for users and ground stations
Developing and using algorithms for data link and network layers, acquisition and scheduling
Analysis and simulation of communication systems
Assist in the development of test tools / equipment for lab measurements.
Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering or related discipline
Strong theoretical understanding of telecommunications
Experience in developing communication protocol stacks
Experience performing analysis and simulation of communication systems.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Masters of Science or PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis in RF/Microwave circuits or communication theory.
Software Defined Radio (SDR) programming and/or development experience
Ground Station design and operations experience
Experience in the design of communications systems subject to significant power-constraints
Experience in Matlab, SystemVue, Python, C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analyzing RF systems.
Some software architecture knowledge and software development experience in a professional engineering environment
Radio protocol design and implementation
Experienced across full life-cycle of communications satellite developments and operations including: design, analysis, test, verification and on-orbit commissioning and operational trouble-shooting
Experience with using radio related test equipment such as spectrum analysers, vector signal analysers, vector signal generator, network analysers.
Experience in a start-up environment
You must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
